The Opportunity:

As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing intervention programmes tailored to meet the needs of students with special educational needs. This is an exciting time to be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking department that is undergoing significant redevelopment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualised intervention programmes to support students with SEND.
  • Adapt and modify the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and high-quality support across the school.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student well-being and achievement.
  • Participate in the ongoing development and improvement of the SEND Department.
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that promote student confidence and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in working with students with special educational needs.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in designing and delivering intervention programmes.
  • Familiarity with specialist resources and support strategies for SEND students.
  • Knowledge of current SEND policies and best practices.
  • Experience with Speech and Language support or other specialist areas within SEND.
