The Opportunity:

As a Grounds Maintenance Worker, you will play a key role in maintaining and developing the school’s sports grounds and playing surfaces. This position ensures that all areas remain safe, functional, and ready for use by students and staff alike. Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair sports grounds, playing surfaces, and associated facilities.
• Ensure all areas are kept clean, safe, and in good working condition.
• Assist in the development and improvement of outdoor spaces.
• Carry out routine inspections and report any maintenance issues.
• Collaborate with the Grounds Manager and other staff to support school events and activities.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
• Manage tools, equipment, and materials used in grounds maintenance.
• Contribute to the upkeep of the school’s green spaces and outdoor learning areas.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience in grounds maintenance or a related field.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor.
• Knowledge of lawn care, landscaping, and outdoor maintenance.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
• Familiarity with sports field maintenance and turf care.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
• Experience with garden tools, machinery, and equipment.
