The Opportunity:

As a Groundsman/Gardener, you will be responsible for maintaining the school's outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and welcoming. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and contributing to the upkeep of a beautiful and historic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and improve the school's gardens, woodlands, and sports fields to a high standard.
• Ensure all outdoor areas are safe and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors.
• Carry out regular maintenance tasks, including mowing, pruning, and planting.
• Assist with the upkeep of the school's buildings and external structures.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the Facilities Team to support the school's operations.
• Monitor and manage the use of outdoor spaces to ensure they are used appropriately.
• Keep detailed records of all maintenance work and equipment usage.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills in grounds maintenance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in grounds maintenance or a related field.
• Knowledge of gardening and landscaping techniques.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Valid driving license and experience with grounds maintenance equipment.

Preferred

• Experience working in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of sustainable gardening practices.
• Experience with the maintenance of sports facilities.
