The Opportunity:

As a Groundsperson, you will play a key role in maintaining and preparing a variety of sports surfaces across the institution. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about grounds maintenance and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and prepare a range of sports surfaces including winter sports pitches, grass and artificial cricket squares, tennis courts, and a 9-hole golf course.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of equipment and machinery used in grounds maintenance, such as tractors, mowers, and rollers.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including mowing, spiking, topdressing, fertilising, and line marking.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and best practices in all aspects of the role.
  • Adhere to safeguarding procedures and demonstrate a commitment to the welfare of children.
  • Support the team in all aspects of grounds maintenance and contribute to the overall success of the department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • General knowledge of grounds maintenance.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • NPTC Tractor Driving Certificate.
  • Minimum of Level 2 in Sport Turf Management or equivalent.
  • PA1 and PA6 Hand Held Applicator Certificate.

Preferred

  • PA2 Tractor Mounted Spraying Certificate.
  • Knowledge of football, rugby, hockey, and preparing cricket wickets.
  • Experience in cricket pitch maintenance.
