The Opportunity:

As a Primary Teacher at a SEND Secondary School, you will play a vital role in delivering cross-curricular lessons to students with diverse learning needs. You will be part of a team dedicated to empowering students through a flexible, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive cross-curricular lessons tailored to individual student needs
  • Support students in developing their academic and personal skills through differentiated teaching approaches
  • Work collaboratively with learning support assistants and other staff to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment
  • Plan and deliver lessons that are flexible, low demand, and accessible to all learners
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to student support
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and support for students with SEMH
  • Contribute to the creation and delivery of pupil-led learning journeys that are adaptable and motivating

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of one year’s experience working in an educational setting
  • Qualified or unqualified teachers welcome to apply; willingness to work towards QTS if unqualified
  • Experience or interest in working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
  • Ability to plan and deliver cross-curricular lessons that engage learners
  • Strong classroom management skills and adaptability

Preferred

  • Experience in a SEND environment or with students who have experienced school avoidance
  • Familiarity with blended learning approaches, including online and workbook-based resources
  • Experience in supporting students with a range of additional needs
  • Commitment to inclusion and supporting all learners regardless of ability or background
