The Opportunity:

A Hairdressing Teacher is needed to deliver and assess VTCT qualifications, helping students develop practical skills and confidence. This role is ideal for passionate educators who want to make a real difference in students' lives and careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and assess VTCT Hairdressing qualifications at Entry Level through to Level 3
  • Support students in developing practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and employability
  • Keep up to date with current pedagogy and industry best practices
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, carers, and college staff
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage student progression and career development in the hairdressing industry
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities
  • Contribute to the overall success and reputation of the department

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Teaching qualification (QTS or QTLS) or currently working towards it
  • Experience in hairdressing or related field
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred

  • Experience with assessing learners
  • Knowledge of VTCT qualifications and standards
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Previous experience in a further education setting
  • Demonstrated passion for teaching and student success
