The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Visiting Singing Teacher to deliver high-quality singing lessons to students. This role is ideal for someone who is dedicated to developing young female voices and fostering a love for classical music. As a self-employed teacher, you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while contributing to the school’s strong music program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and structured singing lessons tailored to the needs of students.
  • Support students in developing their vocal techniques and musical confidence.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Music to ensure the quality and consistency of instruction.
  • Maintain a professional and inspiring relationship with students and parents.
  • Adhere to the terms and conditions of the VMT Agreement.
  • Provide regular feedback to parents on student progress.
  • Stay up to date with developments in vocal pedagogy and classical repertoire.
  • Contribute to the school’s music department in a flexible and committed manner.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching singing, particularly with young female students.
  • Strong knowledge of classical vocal repertoire.
  • Ability to create a supportive and motivating learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience working within an independent or selective school setting.
  • Familiarity with the GDST and its educational values.
  • Experience with self-employment or freelance teaching.
  • Advanced vocal training or performance experience.
