The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Visiting Singing Teacher to deliver high-quality singing lessons to students. This role is ideal for someone who is dedicated to developing young female voices and fostering a love for classical music. As a self-employed teacher, you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while contributing to the school’s strong music program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and structured singing lessons tailored to the needs of students.
- Support students in developing their vocal techniques and musical confidence.
- Collaborate with the Director of Music to ensure the quality and consistency of instruction.
- Maintain a professional and inspiring relationship with students and parents.
- Adhere to the terms and conditions of the VMT Agreement.
- Provide regular feedback to parents on student progress.
- Stay up to date with developments in vocal pedagogy and classical repertoire.
- Contribute to the school’s music department in a flexible and committed manner.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching singing, particularly with young female students.
- Strong knowledge of classical vocal repertoire.
- Ability to create a supportive and motivating learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience working within an independent or selective school setting.
- Familiarity with the GDST and its educational values.
- Experience with self-employment or freelance teaching.
- Advanced vocal training or performance experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate of £24.50 per 30-minute lesson.
