Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Psychology and Sociology lessons to students of all abilities.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the school’s curriculum in these subjects.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through effective teaching and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Humanities Department to ensure a cohesive and inspiring learning experience.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Psychology and Sociology.
  • Experience teaching up to GCSE level.
  • Commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or department leadership.
  • Background in teaching newly qualified teachers or those returning to the profession.
  • Familiarity with the UK education system and GCSE assessment criteria.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
