The Opportunity:

As a Health and Social Care Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to students aged 16-19. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in young people's lives and contribute to a school that values excellence in teaching and pastoral care. The role may also offer the chance to take on additional leadership responsibilities as a Head of Hall.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Health and Social Care to a range of students.
  • Support students in developing the skills and knowledge needed for future careers and further study.
  • Work collaboratively with the wellbeing pastoral team to ensure student progress and success.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assessment to help students reach their full potential.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of the school’s character education programme.
  • Contribute to staff training and professional development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow school procedures for reporting and communication.
  • Support the school’s mission and values in all aspects of teaching and student engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Health and Social Care or a related subject.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding teaching and learning to 16-19 year olds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities if required.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing student progress and leading pastoral initiatives.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or working with diverse student groups.
  • Previous leadership experience, such as Head of Hall or similar roles.
  • Knowledge of character education and student development programmes.
