As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom, helping to maintain a culture of positive behaviour, high attendance, and consistent progress. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in and out of the classroom under the direction of a Head of Year.
  • Promote and maintain a culture of positive behaviour and high attendance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide consistent and effective support for students.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of pastoral strategies and initiatives.
  • Assist in monitoring and supporting student progress and well-being.
  • Engage in regular communication with students, parents, and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to pastoral care.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Support the school’s values and vision, particularly the “Five Rs”: respectful, reflective, responsible, resilient, and resourceful.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A commitment to supporting students and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
  • Understanding of the importance of student well-being and development.

Preferred

  • Experience in a pastoral or support role within a school environment.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Familiarity with the “Five Rs” values and how they can be applied in a school setting.
