The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate Teacher of Science (Chemistry) to join a dynamic department offering A levels and BTEC qualifications. This role presents an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and contribute to a supportive, forward-thinking school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Science, with a focus on Chemistry and BTEC Applied Science.
  • Plan and implement engaging, inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback.
  • Support the development of the Science department through collaboration and shared planning.
  • Promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and resilience within the school.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and student support initiatives.
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of teaching and learning across the school.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Science, preferably in Chemistry.
  • Experience of teaching A levels and BTEC qualifications in Science.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry and Science.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching at sixth form level.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation in Science.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading other teachers.
  • Familiarity with Safer Recruitment procedures and safeguarding policies.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation.
