The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate Teacher of Science (Chemistry) to join a dynamic department offering A levels and BTEC qualifications. This role presents an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and contribute to a supportive, forward-thinking school culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Science, with a focus on Chemistry and BTEC Applied Science.
- Plan and implement engaging, inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all students.
- Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback.
- Support the development of the Science department through collaboration and shared planning.
- Promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and resilience within the school.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and student support initiatives.
- Contribute to the continued improvement of teaching and learning across the school.
- Maintain accurate records and report student progress to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Science, preferably in Chemistry.
- Experience of teaching A levels and BTEC qualifications in Science.
- Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry and Science.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching at sixth form level.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation in Science.
- Experience in mentoring or leading other teachers.
- Familiarity with Safer Recruitment procedures and safeguarding policies.
- Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation.
