The Opportunity:
As the Head of Art and Photography, you will lead and inspire students through high-quality teaching and learning. You will work closely with senior leaders to drive continuous improvement and ensure a strong, engaging curriculum in your subject area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Art and Photography curriculum to ensure it is engaging and meets the needs of all students.
- Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in Art and Photography.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and TLR holders to support school improvement and best practice.
- Provide professional guidance and support to teaching staff in your subject area.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and personal development.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Represent the school at external events and contribute to the wider educational community.
- Ensure all safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree level qualification in Art or Photography with QTS.
- Proven experience in teaching and leading in a school setting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
- Excellent references and a clean DBS check.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Experience with student pastoral care and welfare.
