Head of Art and Photography needed to inspire and lead in a supportive educational environment.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Art and Photography, you will lead and inspire students through high-quality teaching and learning. You will work closely with senior leaders to drive continuous improvement and ensure a strong, engaging curriculum in your subject area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Art and Photography curriculum to ensure it is engaging and meets the needs of all students.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in Art and Photography.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and TLR holders to support school improvement and best practice.
  • Provide professional guidance and support to teaching staff in your subject area.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and personal development.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Represent the school at external events and contribute to the wider educational community.
  • Ensure all safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree level qualification in Art or Photography with QTS.
  • Proven experience in teaching and leading in a school setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
  • Excellent references and a clean DBS check.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Experience with student pastoral care and welfare.
