NJC points 5-6: £25,583 - £25,989 full time equivalent. The actual salary will be £22,926.30 - £23,290.14 based on working 37 hours term time only including training days, plus 10 days.

The Opportunity:

As a school administration assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient and effective operation of the school. Your work will ensure smooth communication and administrative support across the institution, contributing to a positive and productive learning environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure administrative needs related to whole school operations, reception, and pupil services are met.
  • Support the delivery of a professional and efficient central administration service.
  • Greet visitors, manage the visitor signing-in system, and handle safeguarding matters.
  • Manage telephone enquiries, route calls to appropriate staff, and take messages as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely communication with parents, carers, and staff.
  • Handle student absences, update records, and contact parents within required timescales.
  • Provide first aid support and manage a wide range of administrative tasks.
  • Support reprographics by designing and producing high-quality resources and materials.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience working in a busy organisation and handling confidential matters.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build positive working relationships.
  • Experience using a range of IT packages and software, including SIMS.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Background in administration or customer service.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
