The Opportunity:
As the Head of Business Studies, you will lead a department that has consistently driven exceptional student outcomes and a passion for Business Studies and Economics. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Business Studies department to ensure high-quality teaching and student achievement.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that fosters a love of Business Studies and Economics in students.
- Support staff through coaching, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement in examination results and overall attainment.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide objectives.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and motivation.
- Represent the department in meetings, inspections, and external events.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in Business Studies and Economics.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching and lead a department effectively.
- Commitment to student success and a passion for Business Studies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a school setting, ideally in a leadership or senior teaching role.
Preferred
- Previous leadership experience within a school or educational institution.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience in working within a Catholic educational environment.
