The Opportunity:

As the Head of Business Studies, you will lead a department that has consistently driven exceptional student outcomes and a passion for Business Studies and Economics. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business Studies department to ensure high-quality teaching and student achievement.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that fosters a love of Business Studies and Economics in students.
  • Support staff through coaching, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement in examination results and overall attainment.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide objectives.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and motivation.
  • Represent the department in meetings, inspections, and external events.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in Business Studies and Economics.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching and lead a department effectively.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for Business Studies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a school setting, ideally in a leadership or senior teaching role.

Preferred

  • Previous leadership experience within a school or educational institution.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience in working within a Catholic educational environment.
