The Opportunity:

As the Head of Drama and Trust Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum and leading a dynamic team. This is an opportunity to influence student outcomes, drive innovation, and contribute to the strategic direction of the Trust. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering an inspiring and ambitious Drama program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Drama department, ensuring a high-quality, three-tiered curriculum is delivered to students across all National Curriculum levels.
  • Collaborate with the School Music postholders to plan and lead a school production that engages and inspires students.
  • Support and develop a team of HoDs within the Trust, promoting best practice and consistent standards.
  • Monitor student progress through half-termly assessments and ensure sustained academic and personal development.
  • Implement and manage curriculum systems and initiatives that enhance learning outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of reflection, self-improvement, and professional development within the department.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the Trust, ensuring alignment with the school's vision and values.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all students, regardless of ability.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven record of outstanding student results
  • Experience in curriculum development and subject leadership
  • Experience in quality assurance and team management
  • Outstanding classroom teaching and tutoring skills
  • Strong record of developmental work in current role
  • Experience managing or implementing curriculum systems and initiatives
  • Commitment to the ethos and values of the school

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a school production or similar event
  • Experience working within a multi-academy Trust or similar educational setting
  • Experience with student pastoral care and inclusion strategies
