The Opportunity:
As the Head of Business Studies and Economics, you will lead and develop the curriculum for these subjects at Key Stage 3 and 4. This role offers a unique opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities in a dynamic and supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Business Studies and Economics curriculum for Key Stage 3 and 4
- Support and mentor colleagues within the department
- Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons with a focus on student engagement
- Manage resources and ensure effective use of teaching materials
- Contribute to the overall success and development of the Social Sciences department
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning
- Monitor and assess student progress using appropriate methods
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong knowledge of Business Studies and Economics relevant to Key Stage 4 curriculum
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to motivate and inspire both students and colleagues
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in planning lessons and managing resources
Preferred
- Willingness to learn and develop leadership skills on the job
- Basic understanding of assessment methods within secondary education
- Experience in a school leadership or management role
- Enthusiasm for teaching social sciences with creativity
