The Opportunity:

As the Head of Business Studies and Economics, you will lead and develop the curriculum for these subjects at Key Stage 3 and 4. This role offers a unique opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities in a dynamic and supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Business Studies and Economics curriculum for Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Support and mentor colleagues within the department
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons with a focus on student engagement
  • Manage resources and ensure effective use of teaching materials
  • Contribute to the overall success and development of the Social Sciences department
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning
  • Monitor and assess student progress using appropriate methods

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong knowledge of Business Studies and Economics relevant to Key Stage 4 curriculum
  • Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to motivate and inspire both students and colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in planning lessons and managing resources

Preferred

  • Willingness to learn and develop leadership skills on the job
  • Basic understanding of assessment methods within secondary education
  • Experience in a school leadership or management role
  • Enthusiasm for teaching social sciences with creativity
