The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Chemistry to lead and inspire a high-achieving department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Chemistry department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement a rigorous and innovative curriculum aligned with international standards.
  • Support and mentor teachers, promoting continuous professional development and best practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular learning and student engagement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring consistent achievement and growth.
  • Engage actively with the school community, contributing to extracurricular and enrichment programs.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and stakeholders to support student success.
  • Stay abreast of global educational trends and incorporate new pedagogical approaches into departmental practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • BEd or Bachelor’s degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching Secondary A Level Chemistry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a department effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s core values of integrity, empathy, and fortitude.
  • Proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
  • Leadership experience within a school or educational organization.
  • Experience with professional development programs and teacher training.
  • Willingness to engage in international collaboration and research initiatives.
