The Opportunity:
As the Head of Commerce, you will lead the delivery of GCSE and A Level courses, shaping a dynamic and inspiring learning environment. This role is ideal for an experienced educator passionate about business and economics, committed to fostering student success and academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Commerce department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a curriculum aligned with British educational standards and global relevance.
- Oversee the delivery of GCSE and A Level courses, ensuring student engagement and academic achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular links and promote a culture of innovation.
- Mentor and support teachers within the department to improve teaching practice and student outcomes.
- Utilize technology to enhance learning experiences and support student progress.
- Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme and community engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with exam board requirements and maintain accurate records and assessments.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Undergraduate degree in Economics or Business.
- PGCE in Business or Economics.
- Experience leading in a British school or British curriculum institution.
- Proven experience teaching AQA, Edexcel, or equivalent British exam boards.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding teaching practice.
- Evidence of department improvement and leadership.
- Strong ability to plan engaging, student-led lessons.
- Expertise in the subject area with a passion for inspiring students.
- Proficient in using classroom technology to enhance learning.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development or leadership roles.
- Background in extra-curricular programme development or delivery.
- Experience working in an international or diverse educational setting.
