The Opportunity:

As Head of Computing and Business, you will lead a dynamic department and inspire both students and staff to achieve excellence in computing, business, and enterprise. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about digital literacy, innovation, and preparing students for future careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a team of teachers to deliver high-quality computing and business education.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that enhance student learning and achievement.
  • Promote professional development and collaboration among staff to support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all students have access to engaging and relevant learning opportunities across all key stages.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, equality, and high expectations within the department.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to align departmental goals with school-wide objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure exceptional outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the department in meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Computing, Business, and Enterprise.
  • Experience in managing and developing a teaching team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to promoting equality, inclusion, and student well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with digital technologies and their application in education.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or similar.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
