The Opportunity:
As Head of Computing, you will lead a dedicated team and shape the future of computing education, inspiring students with innovative teaching and a focus on real-world problem-solving. This role is central to driving excellence and digital literacy across all key stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate a team of teachers to deliver high-quality computing education and promote professional development.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that enhance student learning and achievement.
- Ensure a cohesive and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all students and prepares them for future careers.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the school’s vision and values.
- Foster a culture of excellence, equality, and high expectations within the department.
- Support the integration of technology and digital skills across the school community.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Represent the department in school-wide initiatives and external partnerships.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a computing or ICT department.
- Strong subject knowledge in computing, ICT, and Creative iMedia.
- Experience in developing and delivering innovative teaching strategies.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of educators.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to promoting digital literacy and real-world problem-solving.
Preferred
- Experience in leading departmental improvement initiatives.
- Background in curriculum development and assessment.
- Familiarity with industry-standard computing qualifications.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or working with diverse student populations.
