The Opportunity:
As the Head of Department - Business and Economics, you will lead and inspire a team of educators, shaping a dynamic and impactful learning experience. This role is central to driving academic excellence and student success in a forward-thinking school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Business and Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with the school’s mission and curriculum standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Foster a culture of continuous professional development within the department.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, including parents and industry partners, to enrich the curriculum.
- Ensure the department meets all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student growth and achievement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- BEd or Bachelor’s degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching Business and Economics to KS4/KS5 or equivalent.
- Strong leadership and management experience in an educational setting.
- Demonstrated ability to drive academic excellence and student success.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and staff.
Preferred
- Experience in a high-performing international school environment.
- Familiarity with IGCSE, GCSE, IB, A’ Level, or BTEC curricula.
- Experience with blended learning and technology integration in the classroom.
- Proven track record in leading curriculum development initiatives.
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities and community engagement.
