Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the Design Technology department, ensuring effective teaching and learning across all year groups.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive, engaging curriculum aligned with the school’s educational goals.
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring student progress and attainment.
- Support and mentor departmental colleagues, fostering a culture of professional development and collaboration.
- Deliver outstanding classroom teaching, inspiring students to develop their creativity and technical skills.
- Ensure a safe and well-managed workshop environment, promoting best practices in design and technology.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate cross-curricular themes and projects.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance, providing feedback and support to enhance learning outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching Design Technology at the secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge and experience in delivering GCSE and A Level courses.
- Experience in departmental leadership or management, with a track record of successful curriculum development.
- Ability to manage a safe and effective workshop environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
Preferred
- Experience teaching Photography at A Level.
- Familiarity with current trends and technologies in design and technology education.
- Experience in leading or contributing to school-wide initiatives and projects.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
