The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Design and Technology Teacher to join a thriving department with modern facilities and a strong commitment to student success. The role offers the chance to inspire students through engaging lessons and utilise advanced technology, including CAD/CAM and industry-standard software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, stimulating lessons in Design and Technology to students at all key stages.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and resources aligned with the AQA specification.
  • Manage and utilise advanced workshop facilities, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and CAD/CAM software.
  • Support students in achieving success at both GCSE and A Level through targeted teaching and assessment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental teaching and learning strategies.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities, including after-school clubs and revision sessions.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant working environment in line with Health & Safety standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree in an appropriate subject and a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology at GCSE and A Level.
  • Strong knowledge of workshop machinery and materials.
  • Ability to create engaging and challenging lesson plans and resources.
  • Commitment to student development and raising attainment through motivation and support.
  • Understanding of the school’s ethos and the importance of pastoral care.

Preferred

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Background in developing innovative teaching materials and schemes of work.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider co-curricular life of the school.
  • Experience with Health & Safety protocols in a Design and Technology environment.
