As the Head of Design & Technology Teacher, you will lead and inspire students in a dynamic and innovative learning environment. This role is ideal for an experienced educator who is passionate about design, technology, and student development. You will play a key role in shaping the curriculum and delivering high-quality instruction in a forward-thinking international school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Design & Technology department, ensuring alignment with the school’s curriculum and educational goals.
• Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Design Technology, Resistant Materials, Industrial Design, Engineering, and Woodwork/Metalwork.
• Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that incorporate the latest technology and industry practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular projects and student-centered learning.
• Mentor and support junior teachers, contributing to the professional growth of the department.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
• Stay updated on current trends in design and technology education, and integrate these into teaching practices.
• Represent the school at relevant events and contribute to the broader educational community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, with a teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGDE, or QTS (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, with a focus on Design Technology and related subjects.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Experience teaching in a workshop or practical environment, incorporating up-to-date technology.

Preferred

• Experience delivering the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
• Strong understanding of best practices in technology-enhanced learning and pedagogy.
• Demonstrated ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Passion for education and a commitment to student development and innovation.
