The Opportunity:

We are seeking an IB/MYP Head of MFL to lead and inspire a team of educators in delivering high-quality, innovative language instruction aligned with the IB framework. This role offers the opportunity to shape curriculum development, support student learning, and contribute to a vibrant, multicultural educational community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the MFL department, ensuring alignment with IB curriculum standards and best practices.
• Develop and implement engaging, inquiry-based lessons that foster language proficiency and cultural awareness.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that enhance student learning.
• Monitor and assess student progress using data-driven strategies to inform instruction and improve outcomes.
• Mentor and support MFL teachers, providing professional development and fostering a collaborative teaching environment.
• Promote a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Participate in school-wide events, extracurricular activities, and community-building initiatives.
• Stay current with educational trends, technology, and pedagogical innovations in language teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant subject area with PGCE/PGDE or QTS (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB or international school setting.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
• Strong understanding of IB curriculum and pedagogy.

Preferred

• Experience teaching the IB MYP or PYP programme.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a school or departmental setting.
• Familiarity with technology-enhanced learning and innovative teaching methods.
• Proven ability to foster inclusive and engaging classroom environments.
