The Opportunity:

As a Learning Assistant - Design & Technology, you will play a key role in supporting students in their learning journey, working closely with class teachers to ensure an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Support individual or small groups of children as directed by the class teacher and subject teachers.
• Assist in enabling students to access the curriculum through proactive engagement and flexible teaching strategies.
• Record and present evidence of learning in line with school requirements.
• Follow agreed programmes of work with individuals and groups to help them achieve set learning targets.
• Contribute to the well-being of children by addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs.
• Assist with minor administrative tasks, such as photocopying, filing, and record-keeping.
• Prepare and store general resources required for teaching and learning.
• Make notes in Individual Education Plan (IEP) books for children as required.
• Provide verbal and written feedback to the Class Teacher to support report writing, assessments, and IEPs.
• Accompany children on school trips and ensure compliance with school policies and documentation.
• Supervise children during breaks, including before and after school when necessary.
• Communicate professionally with parents to maintain the school's positive image and reputation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Minimum High School education in English and Maths
• Ability to work effectively with students and support their learning

Preferred

• Degree in Design Technology
• Previous teaching or teaching assistant experience
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English
• Enthusiasm and aptitude for working with students
• Proactive and flexible approach to support learning in various classroom settings
