Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Deliver Economics lessons to a full timetable in the Sixth Form, with potential for future expansion.
  • Foster a culture of intellectual curiosity and independent thinking among students.
  • Support and mentor junior staff, promoting professional development and collaboration.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support to enhance academic outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Ensure the department meets all academic and pastoral standards set by the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in Economics at A Level.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent academic results.
  • Experience in departmental leadership and management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering student engagement and academic excellence.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Economics at IGCSE level.
  • Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum and A Level qualifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and develop teaching strategies.
  • Experience in a school with a collaborative and non-traditional ethos.
