Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Deliver Economics lessons to a full timetable in the Sixth Form, with potential for future expansion.
- Foster a culture of intellectual curiosity and independent thinking among students.
- Support and mentor junior staff, promoting professional development and collaboration.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support to enhance academic outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of the curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
- Ensure the department meets all academic and pastoral standards set by the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in Economics at A Level.
- Proven track record of delivering excellent academic results.
- Experience in departmental leadership and management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to fostering student engagement and academic excellence.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Economics at IGCSE level.
- Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum and A Level qualifications.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and develop teaching strategies.
- Experience in a school with a collaborative and non-traditional ethos.
