The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring English Subject Leader to lead and develop the English curriculum across Years 7 to 13. This role offers the opportunity to shape learning, support student progress, and work within a collaborative and high-achieving school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the English curriculum to ensure high standards of teaching and learning across all key stages.
- Support and mentor English teachers to improve practice and raise student achievement.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment in English.
- Work collaboratively with other departments and the senior leadership team to drive school improvement.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, curiosity, and high expectations across the English department.
- Ensure that the curriculum is challenging, engaging, and meets the needs of all students.
- Develop and implement strategies to support student progress and personal development.
- Contribute to the school’s wider communication and leadership initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in English education.
- Proven experience in leading a subject team and delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
- Excellent knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Commitment to student progress and personal development.
Preferred
- Experience in a school with a focus on character development and holistic education.
- Familiarity with research-based approaches to teaching and learning.
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
