The Opportunity:

As the Head of Geography, you will lead the department and inspire students to explore the world through engaging and evidence-informed teaching. You will play a key role in shaping the curriculum and supporting the school’s mission to deliver outstanding outcomes for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Geography department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Deliver engaging and impactful lessons that align with the school’s evidence-based approach to teaching.
  • Support staff through instructional coaching and professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted interventions where needed.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of behaviour and learning.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s curriculum.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Encourage prosocial behaviours and personal development in students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in Geography.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Commitment to evidence-informed teaching practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in instructional coaching or mentoring.
  • Background in leading a department or team.
  • Familiarity with behaviour management systems.
  • Experience with assessment and intervention strategies.
  • Passion for promoting student well-being and personal development.
