The Opportunity:

The IB Theory of Knowledge Coordinator plays a vital role in shaping the ToK curriculum and ensuring it meets the highest standards of the IB Diploma Programme. This position supports students, teachers, and parents in delivering a consistent and impactful ToK experience, while promoting international-minded learning and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of Theory of Knowledge across the school, ensuring alignment with IB values and curriculum requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive ToK guide for staff, students, and parents, including study expectations and assessment frameworks.
  • Lead administrative tasks related to ToK, including scheduling, reporting, and internal moderation of essays and exhibitions.
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate ToK into the wider Diploma Programme and enhance student learning.
  • Monitor student progress and provide support to students and families throughout the ToK course.
  • Support teachers through quality assurance practices and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote ToK achievements and raise the profile of the programme across the school.
  • Evaluate and improve the ToK programme on an ongoing basis, providing feedback to the IBDP Leadership team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree-level qualification or higher.
  • IB certificate in leadership practice or leadership research.
  • Proven experience in leading curriculum and pastoral teams with a demonstrable impact on student outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the IB Diploma Programme and Theory of Knowledge curriculum.

Preferred

  • Experience in coordinating large-scale academic programmes.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies.
  • Familiarity with online education platforms and remote teaching environments.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £36,000 to £42,500, plus education allowance.
