The Opportunity:
As a Head of Inclusion, you will lead and embed inclusive practices across the school, ensuring that students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and Gifted and Talented (G&T) receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a register of students requiring support for SEN, EAL, and G&T.
- Develop, monitor, and review the effectiveness of student support policies and procedures.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school’s student support framework.
- Track student progress and collaborate with teachers and team leaders to ensure individual needs are met.
- Analyze student data and results to inform support strategies.
- Support the identification of student needs through assessments and interventions.
- Design and coordinate intervention programs to address learning barriers.
- Mentor and induct new staff within the team.
- Line manage and monitor the performance of support staff.
- Provide training and coaching to classroom staff to enhance student support.
- Maintain open communication with parents, teachers, and external agencies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree and teaching certification.
- 4+ years of senior or middle leadership experience in a similar educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEN, EAL, and G&T provision.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Understanding of child protection and health and safety protocols.
Preferred
- Experience in international accreditation and inspection frameworks.
- Participation in educational leadership workshops (e.g., NASENCO, NPSQL).
- Experience in developing and managing high-performance teams.
- Multilingual capabilities and intercultural awareness.
