The Opportunity:

As a Swimming Teacher, you will lead and deliver swimming programmes for students aged 3–18, while also growing the school’s swimming academy for the wider community. This role combines teaching, leadership, and community engagement to create a safe and inspiring environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality swimming lessons across the PE curriculum for students aged 3–18
  • Lead, manage, and grow the swimming academy for school students and the wider community
  • Mentor and support swimming instructors to ensure lessons meet Swim England standards
  • Work closely with the PE team, parents, and external partners to maintain a consistent, high-quality experience
  • Develop progression pathways for swimmers to support their development and participation
  • Increase community engagement and expand the academy’s offering to include all ages and abilities
  • Ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all swimmers
  • Collaborate with the Head of PE and the EnrichMe Aquatics Leadership Team to drive the development of swimming across the school and academy

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching swimming to children and adults
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Knowledge of Swim England standards and best practices
  • Ability to develop and deliver curriculum and academy programmes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare

Preferred

  • Experience in leading and growing a swimming academy
  • Commercial mindset with an understanding of programme development and expansion
  • Experience with teaching students of all ages and abilities
  • Background in coaching or competitive swimming
