The Opportunity:

As the Head of Inclusion (SENCO), you will provide strategic leadership for inclusive education initiatives across the school. You will ensure that all students, regardless of their learning needs, receive tailored support that aligns with the American curriculum and international best practices. This role is pivotal in creating a culture where every student is valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for inclusive education programs and ensure alignment with American curriculum standards and international best practices.
  • Oversee the identification, assessment, and monitoring of students with a wide range of additional learning needs.
  • Coordinate the creation and implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and ensure they are regularly reviewed and communicated.
  • Support teachers in differentiating instruction and implementing evidence-based strategies for diverse learners.
  • Lead training and coaching for staff on inclusive teaching methods, executive functioning support, and classroom management.
  • Collaborate with school psychologists, occupational therapists, and counsellors to deliver multidisciplinary support.
  • Maintain strong communication with families through parent meetings, workshops, and consultations.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, ethical guidelines, and legal obligations in all practices.
  • Lead and develop the inclusion team, including training, scheduling, and professional development planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of SENCO or Learning Support leadership experience, preferably in an international or bilingual school setting.
  • Experience conducting and interpreting formal and informal assessments (academic, behavioural, sensory, cognitive).
  • Deep understanding of neurodiversity, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences.
  • Ability to coach teachers, lead training, and advise on curriculum modifications and progress monitoring.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with staff, families, and external professionals.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and case management abilities.
  • Fluency in English; Russian is an advantage but not required.

Preferred

  • Experience with AP access and differentiation strategies within the American curriculum framework.
  • Background in safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership in building inclusive school cultures.
