The Opportunity:

As a Psychology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a dynamic and comprehensive psychology program to Upper School students. You will inspire learners through engaging lessons that foster critical thinking, practical application, and a deep understanding of human behavior and mental processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Psychology courses, including introductory and AP-level content, covering biological, cognitive, developmental, social, and abnormal psychology.
  • Design and deliver creative, accessible, and challenging lessons that meet educational standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing effective formative feedback to support learning and development.
  • Continuously refine and update curriculum materials, lesson plans, and Schemes of Learning (SoL) to ensure quality and relevance.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.
  • Support students’ mental health and wellbeing through teaching and mentorship, promoting positive attitudes and skills.
  • Communicate regularly with parents through written reports, parent-teacher meetings, and open-door policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a supportive, inclusive school community.
  • Participate actively in the school’s outdoor learning program and other extracurricular initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology; Master’s preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification.
  • Experience teaching high school or AP Psychology.
  • Strong knowledge of research methodology, scientific writing, and cognitive science.
  • Excellent communication and rapport-building skills.
  • Fluent English required.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and ethical teaching practices.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve academic success.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning.
  • Background in outdoor or experiential learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with student wellbeing and mental health initiatives.
