The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students to think critically and express themselves confidently. You will teach Advanced Placement (AP) English courses, supporting students in reaching their academic potential while contributing to a collaborative and innovative department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English Language and Literature to students in Grades 6–12, including AP courses.
  • Design and implement assessments aligned with AP standards, including FRQs and document analysis.
  • Foster critical thinking and analytical skills in students through engaging instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, resource creation, and departmental planning.
  • Maintain high academic standards while promoting student well-being and inclusive learning environments.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, initiatives, and cross-curricular projects.
  • Support professional development through ongoing learning and sharing of best teaching practices.
  • Stay current with developments in education and English pedagogy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A university degree in Education, English, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in education.
  • Valid teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching high-school English; AP experience is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of inquiry and project-based learning methodologies.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive teaching and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience with Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum.
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in cross-curricular collaboration and initiative development.
