The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and experienced Performing Arts Teacher to join its High/Secondary School department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire and guide students in developing their talents in Music and Drama within a dynamic, internationally recognized curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Music and Drama lessons that support creativity, performance skills, and academic progress.
- Set purposeful learning tasks and provide clear, constructive feedback to help students improve technique and confidence.
- Assess student learning using formative and summative approaches, adapting teaching to meet diverse needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents/guardians to support student learning and wellbeing.
- Lead an engaging after-school drama or music club, broadening participation and performance opportunities.
- Support school priorities through additional duties, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
- Prepare students for performances, showcases, and events, including rehearsals and production planning.
- Contribute to curriculum development and resource planning within the Performing Arts department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A university degree in Drama, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience teaching in an international school program.
- Expertise in international curricula, particularly American (AP) and British (IGCSE/A-Level) systems.
- Demonstrable success in Performing Arts at school, regional, or international levels.
- Proven record of involvement in performances, showcases, and events.
Preferred
- Strategic vision, operational acumen, and exceptional organizational skills.
- Commitment to pastoral care and holistic student development.
- Flexibility, innovation, and resilience in a multicultural educational environment.
- Experience with EAL/SEND students and inclusive teaching practices.
