The Opportunity:
The Head of Languages will lead and inspire students in language learning, with a focus on Spanish at GCSE. This role is ideal for an energetic and passionate educator who believes in the power of language to transform lives and foster global understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver high-quality language teaching, with a focus on Spanish at GCSE.
- Inspire and motivate students to develop a deep appreciation for languages and cultures.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support student success across key stages.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s language curriculum and extracurricular activities.
- Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the department.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized and challenging instruction.
- Ensure a well-organized and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
- Contribute to the school’s wider mission and values through professional and collaborative working.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience teaching languages across different key stages
- Ability to teach Spanish at GCSE level
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Passion for language learning and cultural appreciation
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team
- Background in promoting language learning beyond the classroom
- Experience with innovative teaching methods or curriculum development
- Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes in languages
