The Opportunity:
As the Head of Library Services, you will play a key role in shaping a vibrant and dynamic learning environment. This position offers the chance to lead a modern library that supports academic excellence, student engagement, and lifelong learning across a diverse and ambitious school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the library that aligns with the school’s educational goals.
- Manage and lead a team of library staff to ensure high-quality service and support to students and faculty.
- Oversee the acquisition, organization, and maintenance of a comprehensive collection of over 100,000 books and digital resources.
- Promote library services and resources through innovative programs, events, and outreach initiatives.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate library resources and services into the curriculum.
- Ensure the library remains a welcoming, inclusive, and technologically advanced learning space.
- Monitor and evaluate library usage and impact, using data to inform improvements and developments.
- Stay current with trends in library science and education technology to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a library or educational setting.
- Strong background in library management, collection development, and information services.
- Experience in a school or international educational environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of learning, inclusivity, and innovation.
Preferred
- Experience with digital library systems and educational technology.
- Knowledge of international curricula such as IGCSE or IB.
- Experience in managing large-scale library collections and budgets.
- Fluency in multiple languages, particularly English and Mandarin.
