As Deputy Head of Secondary School, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of School in leading the academic and pastoral development of the Secondary School. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the academic and pastoral development of the Secondary School.
• Collaborate with the Head of School to ensure the delivery of high-quality education aligned with the school’s vision and values.
• Oversee the implementation of the IB Diploma Programme and support students in achieving academic excellence.
• Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that reflects the Wellington Values.
• Develop and manage the pastoral care system to ensure the well-being and personal growth of students.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and students to create a supportive and motivating learning environment.
• Monitor and evaluate academic performance, ensuring continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
• Represent the school at external events and engage with the wider community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven leadership experience in a senior educational role, preferably within an international school.
• Strong understanding of the IB Diploma Programme and international curricula.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team of teachers and support staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Commitment to the Wellington Values and a student-centric approach to education.

Preferred

• Experience in a Deputy Head or similar leadership role within a secondary school setting.
• Familiarity with Chinese educational systems and cultural contexts.
• Experience in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Strong organisational and strategic planning skills.
