The Opportunity:
As a Deputy Head of Secondary School, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and pastoral direction of a school. This is a leadership position that offers the opportunity to influence a pioneering education and support students in achieving academic excellence and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the development of the secondary school’s academic and pastoral strategy.
- Work closely with the Head of School to ensure the delivery of high-quality education aligned with the school’s vision and values.
- Oversee and monitor the performance of teaching and support staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Manage the pastoral care system, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
- Represent the school at various events and meetings, both internally and externally.
- Collaborate with parents, students, and colleagues to promote a positive and cohesive school community.
- Ensure the effective implementation of school policies and procedures.
- Support the continuous improvement of teaching and learning across the secondary school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- In-depth knowledge of curriculum development and educational best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the school’s values and mission, including Kindness, Responsibility, Respect, Courage, and Integrity.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and international environment.
Preferred
- Experience in a British or international school setting.
- Familiarity with the IB Diploma Programme or other international curricula.
- Experience in pastoral leadership and student welfare.
- Fluency in a second language, particularly Mandarin.
