The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement departmental policies that reflect the school's vision and commitment to academic excellence.
• Monitor and evaluate short, medium, and long-term plans for departmental development.
• Use data to identify underachieving students and implement targeted support strategies.
• Analyse school data to inform departmental and school self-evaluation processes.
• Ensure schemes of work are developed and regularly reviewed to meet the needs of all students, including SEN, G&T, and EAL learners.
• Ensure curriculum continuity, progression, and coverage for all students.
• Implement clear policies for assessing, recording, and reporting student achievement.
• Promote high standards of teaching and learning across the department.
• Evaluate teaching quality and identify areas for improvement.
• Contribute to the school's ECA Programme and after-school revision sessions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related subject with a PGCE or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.
• Proven success in teaching across the age and ability range.

Preferred

• Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum.
