The Opportunity:
As Head of Mathematics, you will lead a passionate and dedicated department, driving academic excellence and inspiring students to reach their full potential. This is a key leadership role with a strong focus on teaching and learning, professional development, and student engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
- Develop and implement a departmental strategy aligned with the school’s vision and values.
- Support and mentor teachers to improve pedagogy and student outcomes.
- Promote and deliver extracurricular opportunities in Mathematics to engage and inspire students.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring consistency and excellence in delivery.
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership and other departments to drive school improvement.
- Foster a culture of continuous professional development and leadership within the department.
- Ensure the department adheres to safeguarding and equality policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a school or college setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and leading at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The right to work in the UK.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
- A track record of improving student achievement and attainment.
- Experience with teacher training and mentoring.
- Experience with extracurricular and enrichment activities.
