Key Responsibilities:

  • Set a clear and ambitious vision for Mathematics across the school
  • Lead curriculum development to ensure it is rigorous, coherent, and knowledge-rich
  • Use assessment and performance data to drive improvement and close attainment gaps
  • Model excellent classroom practice through high-quality teaching
  • Ensure consistently strong teaching across the department
  • Build a collaborative and accountable team culture
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities
  • Secure strong outcomes across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong academic background in Mathematics and Qualified Teacher Status
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with a track record of strong outcomes
  • Ability to lead and inspire others
  • Use data intelligently to inform decisions and drive improvement
  • High expectations and a relentless focus on student success

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team
  • Knowledge of Rosenshine’s principles and the Science of Learning
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment practices
