Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and coordinate the English curriculum across all key stages.
• Lead collaborative planning and resource sharing within the department.
• Monitor and support student progress, ensuring achievement in line with value-added predictions.
• Develop and deliver effective schemes of work and enrichment programmes.
• Identify and support students with individual learning needs through tailored teaching strategies.
• Promote a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
• Support the professional development of department members and manage team performance.
• Ensure the successful delivery of Ark Mastery English curriculum with appropriate adaptations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in designing and delivering effective schemes of work and enrichment programmes.
• Experience in leading a department and driving improvements in teaching and learning.
• Strong leadership and management skills with experience in supporting team performance.
• Excellent behaviour management and the ability to motivate learners of all abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to improve student outcomes and support individual learning needs.

Preferred

• Experience within the Ark Mastery English curriculum.
• Background in secondary school leadership and curriculum development.
• Experience in professional development planning and delivery.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
