Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes high achievement and engagement in mathematics.
  • Support and mentor staff to enhance teaching practices and professional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all pupils reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the department in meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
  • Ensure that teaching and learning strategies align with the school’s vision and values.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in mathematics education.
  • Proven leadership experience within a school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in mathematics and a commitment to raising standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Leadership in a large or multi-academy trust setting.
