Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop and embed an ambitious, inclusive and knowledge-rich History curriculum
- Inspire pupils with a love of History and a strong understanding of the past and its relevance today
- Raise standards of attainment and progress across all key stages
- Support and develop colleagues through coaching, modelling and subject expertise
- Monitor, evaluate and enhance teaching and learning within the department
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and its ethos
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning
- Ensure that the History department aligns with the school’s values and vision
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching History at all key stages
- Demonstrable leadership experience in a subject leadership role
- Strong knowledge of the History curriculum and its progression
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to inclusive and equitable education
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum design and development
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
- Experience in leading and mentoring teaching staff
- Strong understanding of assessment and progression in History
- Experience in working within an all-through school setting
