The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging History lessons that inspire curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support the academic and personal growth of students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and active participation.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized learning and targeted interventions.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the History subject and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in History education.
  • Strong knowledge of the History curriculum and the ability to deliver it effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and the promotion of a positive learning environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the school's vision.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching additional Humanities or GCSE subjects.
  • Experience with ECTs (Early Career Teachers) or mentoring.
  • Experience in delivering lessons that promote critical thinking and independent learning.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and resources for teaching History.
