The Opportunity:

As a Maths Subject Leader, you will play a key role in driving high attainment and inspiring student progress across the Academy. This is an opportunity to shape the curriculum and lead a dedicated team in delivering outstanding maths education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee maths teaching and learning across the Academy
• Develop and implement an inspiring and high-quality maths curriculum
• Set and monitor high expectations for student attainment and progress
• Use data to inform teaching strategies and identify areas for improvement
• Manage student behaviour to create a safe and focused learning environment
• Collaborate with the Assistant Principal and Strategic Leadership Team on curriculum and assessments
• Deliver outstanding lessons that motivate and challenge students
• Support the development of a strong and inclusive academy community
• Organise and lead maths clubs and competitions for students
• Work closely with the SEN department to support low-attaining students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in maths education and curriculum development
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Ability to use data to drive improvement in student outcomes
• Experience in behaviour management and creating a positive learning environment
• Commitment to equality, safeguarding, and student welfare

Preferred

• Experience in leading curriculum development across a multi-academy trust
• Background in delivering network-wide training or initiatives
• Experience in preparing students for external examinations
• Familiarity with Ark’s values and mission
