Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Maths department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student progress and attainment across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to drive continuous improvement in pedagogical practices.
  • Support and mentor colleagues within the department to foster a culture of professional development and collaboration.
  • Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of Maths curriculum to ensure alignment with school and trust objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the department to identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Promote an inclusive and innovative learning environment that inspires students and encourages a passion for Mathematics.
  • Represent the department in meetings, inspections, and external events to enhance the school’s profile.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Mathematics.
  • Proven leadership experience within a school or college setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive improvement and achieve outstanding outcomes in student progress.
  • Strong knowledge of current educational trends, curriculum developments, and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team within a school or college.
  • Familiarity with the Frank Field Education Trust and its values.
  • Experience with data analysis and using insights to inform teaching and learning strategies.
  • Involvement in professional development or training initiatives for colleagues.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range (£32,916 - £51,048) with additional TLR1B (£12,526) allowance.
