The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Maths to lead and inspire a team of educators. This role offers the chance to shape the future of mathematics education and make a lasting impact on student achievement and school development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Develop and implement a robust curriculum aligned with the National Curriculum for England and international benchmarks.
• Support and mentor Mathematics teachers, providing professional development and growth opportunities.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring effective teaching strategies and interventions.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to drive school improvement and academic excellence.
• Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the department.
• Engage with parents and the wider school community to enhance the learning experience.
• Oversee the planning and delivery of Mathematics-related extra-curricular activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor of Education or a Bachelor’s degree with PGCE / PGDE (or equivalent qualification)
• Proven experience teaching Mathematics to GCSE level & A Level
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching practice and a commitment to continuous improvement
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven track record of delivering outstanding learning and teaching

Preferred

• Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role
• Familiarity with the National Curriculum for England and international qualifications
• Experience with computational thinking and innovative teaching methods
• Background in extra-curricular and community-based initiatives
